Why would a dietitian promote fast food?
I don’t necessarily recommend eating fast food, but for many of my clients fast food consumption is a reality and I want to help them make the healthiest choices possible when they do eat fast food. And feel energized after eating, instead of sluggish and heavy.
Here are a few tips to help improve the quality of your fast food and avoid that heavy feeling afterwards:
Limit high-fat foods, such as fried foods
Limit simple sugars, such as pop/soda
Eat until you're satisfied, not full
Keep a list of healthier fast foods, so you're prepared to order when you're in a hurry.
Don’t berate yourself for eating fast food. Make the best choices you can with the food and time available.
